Club Ranges

The Fort Valley Gun Club offers an "Upper" Range, a "Lower" Pistol Range Complex and, as of 8 January, 2011, a 350 yard "Founder's Legacy Range". Each range provides facilities for multiple disciplines.

The Upper Range has rails and berms for official NRA .22 Silhouette matches plus 100, 150 and 200 Meter berms suitable for Big Bore Silhouette matches. Target frames at each of the berms permit target practice on paper. Shooting on the Upper Range is from covered firing points with both concrete and wooden benches. One side of the shooting shed has a concrete floor. Future plans include a concrete floor on the opposite end of the shed.

The Lower Range has a 25 and 50 yard berm for pistols and small-bore rifles while a 100 yard berm is for target shooting and sighting in rifles. Covered firing points have benches for the 50 and 100 yard berms.

The newly opened "Founder's Legacy Range" has berms at 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 & 350 yards. Presently there are four benches that are used for sighting in and for Bench Rest Matches. The benches are also used as back braces when shooting from "Buffalo Stakes". A few pictures will help to illustrate the new range facilities and a few members who have helped to make them possible. Casual shooting is now permitted on any range that is not being used for a scheduled match.
