History

The Fort Valley Gun Club was founded in 1962 by a group of local residents in the Fort Valley, Georgia, area. The purpose was to promote firearms safety, competitions and provide a safe place for casual target shooting by members and guests. Additionally, it provides a venue for socializing and meeting people who enjoy similar interests. The ranges are on 25 acres located roughly two miles due West of Fort Valley just off of highway 96 at the end of Gun Club Road.

In the past 48 years, many different kinds of both formal and informal competitions with rifle and pistol have been held on the ranges. Our safety records are exemplary for a reason. INSTRUCTION FROM MATCH DIRECTOR IS FINAL! Anyone interested in participating is invited. Come be part of the fun!

Membership

Membership is by invitation only and requires the endorsement of two active members who are in good standing. All prospective members are carefully vetted to ensure that they will benefit the club through participation and responsible behavior. NRA membership is not required but is highly recommended. The club has a cap of 150 members. Turnover on an annual basis is generally small. Up to 30 members may be Life Members but opening are rare. Annual dues are $100.00 while a Life Membership costs $1,000.00 when available.

If you don't know any current members, the best way to join is to start participating in publicly available matches. Participation in our annual work days is also a good way to introduce yourself.
